Plywood, siding, and building wrap…oh my!

The siding has been stripped and the layers are being peeled off one by one. In this image we get a glimpse of the plywood that is boarding up the windows along with the wood on the newer part of building, the 128 year old siding in the middle section of the building, and the 1980s siding still clinging to the bell tower.

The back of the church has been stripped and wrapped in building wrap in preparation for the next steps. Here you can see the old siding still hanging on at the top of the tower.

In an image we won’t get to see again, the 128 year old siding has now been exposed and, even though it’s rough after being covered over several times, it’s still hanging in there.

The main entrance has also been stripped and wrapped in preparation for the next steps.

While many of the windows have been removed and the openings boarded up, the triple window is still in place. The 128 year old siding is now full of nail holes and pieces are missing and in this image we get to see the sunlight flooding in through the holes in the siding.

There’s a lot happening outside but there’s also work happening inside! That indoor work includes new flooring in the bell tower and a step up front for the altar.

The altar step is framed up and waiting for the vents to be placed.
